Basic Math calculators

Percentages, averages, GPA and everyday arithmetic.

This category covers the arithmetic people actually reach for day to day — working out a percentage, averaging a set of numbers, simplifying a fraction, or converting a grade point average — rather than the symbolic algebra you'd use a scientific calculator for.

If you're doing calculus, matrix algebra, or trigonometry, the Scientific calculators are the better fit. Everything below is arithmetic you can check by hand if you wanted to — these tools just do it faster and show the working.

Frequently asked questions

For most arithmetic homework — percentages, averages, fractions — the calculator matching that specific operation is quickest, since it shows the formula and a worked example alongside the answer, not just a number. For algebra or trigonometry, use the Scientific Calculator instead.

Each one shows the formula it uses and a worked example on its own page, so you can check the method as well as the result — that's on the individual calculator pages, not repeated here.

It's grouped here under Basic Math since it's fundamentally a weighted-average calculation. If you're looking for it specifically, search "GPA" from any page.
